Alexander Timoshenko

Member of the Board of Directors of the "United Energy Systems of Ukraine"(UESU) Alexander Timoshenko behind bars during that sitting of the Kyiv's Sovetskyi district Court on Tuesday, November 21, 2000. During the Court sitting the claim of Timoshenko's advocate on the sanction on arrest was considered. Timoshenko said that he considers two variants: General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) fulfill the order and "just wants to jail him", or the GPO is intended "to find out the truth, concerning the case of UESU". In the second case, according to Timosheno, the Prosecutor's Office will release him from custody, as "he needs to associate with his advocates daily, learn the papers". Timoshenko was seized on August 21 of the current year. He is blamed in loot of the State Property in especially large size, as well as falsification of papers, according to which the Russian gas was illegally transported in the Great Britain. Besides, the General Prosecutor brought an action against the first vice Director General of the UESU Mr. Falkovich on the loot of the State Property in especially large size.
