COMM Ukrainian vice-Prime Minister, head of governmental commission investigating the accident at “Krasnoarmeyskaya” coal mine, Andrey Klyuyev tells about salvage operations being performed in town Rodinskoye of Krasnoarmeyskiy region of Donetsk area, Tuesday, July 20, 2004. Overnight at 8 p.m. methane suddenly exploded and 31 miners died as a result. At the present moment the bodies are being raisen to the surface. By 5 a.m. July 20, 12 miners were discovered by mine-rescue crew and successfully brought out. Destiny of other 11 miners was still unknown by 6.45. The mine-rescue crew established a fact that these miners had very little chance to be saved. This coal mine is supposed to be one of the most dangerous ones in Ukraine. Photo by UNIAN
