Ukrainian Transport Airplane AN-70

The Ukrainian Transport Airplane AN-70 (load capacity - 35 tons, the flight range - up to 4.000km) is flying. At the time of one-day visit of the Prime Minister of Bavaria Edmund Shtoyber, he visited the Antonov Airplane-building Scientific Technical Complex (ASTC). The Prime Minister declared that Europe, and particularly Germany considers the question on cooperation with the Antonov ASTC, concerning the An-70 project, as the basis for elaboration the average transport airplane (ATA) of new generation. In January of 1999 the ASTC send the technical propositions to the tender, conducted by the European Countries in order to choose the ATA project. The treatment of An-70 is going on, according to the European countries ATA standards. The new model will be named An-7X.
