Construction of floral clock

Construction of floral clock in Krivoy Rog, on August 16, 2011. On Monday, August 22, 2011 the biggest floral clock in the world was launched in Krivoy Rog. It beautified part of the Park of Heroes recreational facility. The clock was created to implement the "City Without Outskirts" program, initiated by Dnepropetrovsk Region Governor Aleksandr Vilkul. This unique floral timepiece has a face with diameter of 22 metres and a pointer length of 12 metres. Twenty-two thousand flowers of six different species were planted here. The hands move with the help of a mechanism located underneath the structure. The clock will chime hourly during the day, and it will be lighted at night. Photo by Dmitriy Alyokhin / UNIAN
