Prior to his appointment Shyshatskiy was a Chairman of Donetsk regional council. Before that, the President of Ukraine relieved Anatoliy Bliznyuk from the post of the head of Donetsk Regional Administration and appointed him a Minister of regional Development, Construction and Housing.
