Policemen stand in cordon
COMM / Servicemen of Internal Forces stand in cordon, providing the public order during the state visit of the Vatican State Head Pope John Paul II to Ukraine, on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 in Lviv. As to the Pope press-secretary Joaquim Navarro-Waltz, the visit to Ukraine was well organized, he stessed, that the safety questions considered to be the questions of host country, so far it is the great responsibility. First Vice Minister of Ukraine Internal Affairs Mikhail Kornienko also pleased by the law enforcement authorities activity during the visit. According to him, there are 8400 servicemen of internal forces and army were involved, from them 3200 were on the Lviv racetrack, where 1 m. 500 th. Pilgrims gathered for Divine Liturgy. More than 5 th. volunteers kept the order on the racetrack sectors.
