Ivan Zaets

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ivan Zaets among the representatives of the Party of Greens of Ukraine during the picketing by greens the Cabinet of Ministers House, on Wednesday, September 6, 2000, in Kyiv. The action, which gathered some 1000 of greens from all over Ukraine, was caused by the ecological accidents and catastpophes, connected with the radio-active wastes, in particular, the present situation with the falling ill with toxic dermatitis in Pervomaiskyi Region, Nikolaevskaya Oblast, as well as factory "Rodon" in villages Pirogovo (not far from kyiv), where in 1987 wastes from Chernobyl were brought together. The outdated system of storage of these wastes under the influence of fall-outs led to the situation when the radioactive substances occurred in the ground.
