Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko delivering a speech during the meeting with participation of chairmen of village and settlement councils in Kyiv, on Saturday, May 23, 2009. Prime Minister of Ukraine is concerned with demographic situation in villages. “It looks tragically that a considerable number of people leave village”, she said. According to her words, village population in Ukraine, according to different calculations, makes up 20-25%, however it reduces annually by 1%. At the same time she noted that agricultural manufacture was and remains one of the bases of Ukrainian economics and the government should do everything is possible for increasing prestigiousness and development of villages.
