Ivan Plyush

Ivan Plyush, the People's Deputy of Ukraine after the Parliamentary Majority Council's sitting, on Thursday, January 27, 2000. On January 27, 2000 the Coordination Council of the Parliamentary Majority had determined the candidatures of Ivan Plyush for the Parliamentary speaker and Vicror Medvedchuk - for the first vice-speaker. Leonid Kravchuk, the Majority Coordinator, had informed about the latter after the sitting was over. Alexander Turchinov, one of the "Batkivshina" fraction's leaders, marked, that Victor Medvedchuk had canceled his candidature in favor of Ivan Plyush, moreover, the Batkivshina fraction insisted on his candidature, as they saw "the compromise figure, which can satisfy the majority and constructively disposed part of minority".
