CFC Consulting, a Kyiv-based PR and communications company, jointly with its US affiliated company MuPoToon LLC, released a comic book DESPERATE WHITE HOUSE, or How Obama Sold the American Dream to China, dedicated to the Presidential electionsrace in the US. The plot of the story revolves around two Ukrainian Harvard exchange students Sprytkoand Harnyunya, whose out-of-the-boxthinking and shrewd advice helps Barack Obama get re-elected for the second term. The characters of Sprytko and Harnyunya have been a part of the Ukraine’s country branding strategy originally developed by CFC Consulting.

Just in time for the US Presidential election, CFC Consulting, jointly with MuPoToon Ltd, is releasing a comic book about this wild race called DESPERATE WHITE HOUSE, or How Obama Sold the American Dream to China. This new product is a spin-off of the animated political comedy series, Desperate White House, which premiere in the US is planned for 2014.

The genre of the comics is political comedy. All of the events in the story have a real-life basis, but they are presented from a fictitious comic angle.

The plot of comic book centers on the election campaign of the incumbentpresident Barack Obama. Faced with plummeting ratings and a negative outlook for his chances to get re-elected, Obama accidentally meets two Ukrainian studentsof University of Harvard Summer School, Sprytko and Harnyunya, whose out-of-the-box thinking helps him turn around his presidential bid.
When Obama rhetorically complains to Sprytko and Harnyunya at the beginning of the story that his campaign has become dull and repetitive, they convince him to appear in public with a real cow, which they pick up at a random farm on their way to a meeting with voters.

Next, Obama is faced with a berserk Mars rover called Curiosity, who threatens to blow himself up live on CNN unless the President “makes him happy” on Mars. Our intrepid Ukrainian youngsters convince Obama to negotiate the lead in a sequel to the Hollywood robot blockbuster, Wall-E, for the crazed space gadget.

And when the President’s advisors run out of fundraising ideas, Sprytko and Harnyunya outlandishly propose Obama to sell his personal secret to living the American Dream to China. This goes over extremely well with the Chinese and helps Obama get re-elected.

As it develops, the story also provides unexpected tongue-in-cheek answers to such questions as—
“What was the half-naked Obama doing in the company of the entirely naked Prince Harry in Las Vegas?”
“What is the real secret behind Mitt Romney’s Secret Economic Plan?”
“Why will Michele Obama become US President in 2020?”
and “Is there sex on Mars?”
