A young Hasid

A young Hasid prays in a sacred place for Hasids where the Hasidism founder Baal Shem Tov was buried, at old Jewish cemetery near town Medzeboz about 350 km West from Kiev, Tuesday, May 25, 2004. Annual holiday Shavuot, the day which commemorates the receiving of the Ten Commandments by Jewish people at Mount Sinai, began that evening. Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov has been living in XVIII century. He is an author of the book “Tania” that served as a background for Hasidism. Photo by Viktor Pobedinsky / UNIAN
