Patriarch of Romanian Orthodox Church Daniel, on the left, and the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, on the right, during meeting within the visit of Yushchenko to Bucharest (Romania) on Tuesday, October, 30 in 2007 During the meeting President marked that for Ukrainian Orthodox the close collaboration is extraordinarily important between Ukrainian and Romanian Orthodox Church. Yushchenko greeted Patriarch on electing on the higher throne of Romanian Orthodox Church. President added that the Ukrainian side a bargain that Romanian Orthodox Church will be and in future to assist to rapprochement of the Romanian and Ukrainian people, and also maintainance and revival of national spiritual traditions of Ukrainian residents in Romania.
