Head of the parliamentary committee for national safety and defense Heorhiy Kryuchkov claimes that the decision to send Ukrainian anti-chemical forces to a military zone "means that Ukraine joined US and the anti-Iraq coalition" during the parliamentary session concerning deployment of Ukrainian anti-chemical forces to Kuwait in Ukrainian parliament in Kiev on Thursday, March 20, 2003. Kryuchkov said that it wasn't Ukraine's initiative to send the battalion to Kuwait, it was a top-state to make us do it". He added that "sending the battalion not only corresponds Ukraine's interests but puts it under a serious threat". This day Ukrainian parliament approved sending anti-chemical battalion to Kuwait.
