In the course of the scheduled anti-presidential campaign protesters tried not to let Leonid Kuchma lay the flowers on the monument. The numerous anti-presidential actions, were caused by the case of missing journalist Georgyi Gongadze and continue till now. Center - people's deputy of Ukraine Taras Chornovil. According to UNA-UNSO Chairman Andrey Shkil, "suits were lodged against practically all the people's deputies, who today morning stayed at the monument to Taras Shevchenko".
