”Bercut” special sub-unit soldiers with flowers

"Bercut" special sub-unit soldiers with flowers, which protesters put into their shields, block the way to the monument to great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, downtown Kyiv, Friday, March 9, 2001. This day Ukraine celebrated the 187th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birthday. In the course of the scheduled anti-presidential campaign protesters tried not to let Leonid Kuchma lay the flowers on the monument. The numerous anti-presidential actions, were caused by the case of missing journalist Georgyi Gongadze and continue till now. Center - people's deputy of Ukraine Taras Chornovil.
