Accident in Zasyadko coal mine
The hospital nurses of Burns-curing Center of the Donetsk-based Hospital help the miner, who have scorched in the consequence of methane explosion in the Donetsk-based Zasyadko Coal Mine (Monday, May 24, 1999). The explosion took place on the horizon of 1055-1250 m. on the 24th of May. 551 people were in the mine at the time of the explosion. 49 are hospitalized, 19 miners of the amount are in the Burn-curing Center, and the others are placed in the other hospitals. The emergency-rescue workings are carried out in the mine. The first-rate accident on the Ukrainian Mines took place in Donetsk-based Skochinsky mine in April, 1998. That methane explosion took away 70 lives of miners. According to the official returns, more than 100 miners died this year in consequence of accidents. 300 people perish on the Ukrainian mines per year.
