The court reduced the sentences of Voronin and Kalinin to 10 and eight years in prison while a regional court had sentenced the two men to 15 and 12 years for premeditated murder and the Supreme Court sent it back to court after appeal.Bilozir died in May 2000 after an argument in a downtown Lvov coffee shop. According to witnesses, Bilozir and his friends sang Ukrainian songs and protested Russian pop music playing at the cafe. About 200 protesters gathered Tuesday around the courthouse and demanded a life sentence for the two convicted men, blocking the building's exit.
