Geidar Aliev
COMM Azerbaijan's President Geidar Aliev is greeted as he arrived at the airport in Ukraine's Black Sea port of Sevastopol on Friday, July 19, 2002. Aliev arrived in Ukraine to take part in a two-day regional GUUAM alliance summit in Yalta. Presidents of four former Soviet republics of Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Azerbaijan launched their meeting to discuss lifting trade barriers and boosting economic cooperation. The delegations are expected to sign an agreement to create free trade zone and a declaration to maintain security and combat terrorism and organized crime across the region.
