December, 26, 2006 The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko appointed Kachur on the post of the governor of Sumy region. This is reflected in order №1125/2006 from December, 26. Before this designation 53 year old Kachur was a President councilor. From September, 2005 to August, 2006 Kachur was the Minister of construction, architecture and public utilities.
