The sculpture of brave soldier Svejk

Tourists look at bronze sculpture of brave soldier Svejk, famous character of Czech writer Jaroslav Hasek, who sits near a cafe with a pipe and a beer mug in his hands, in western Ukrainian city of Lviv Wednesday, June 12, 2002. The sculpture was recently made by Ukrainian artist Sergei Oleshko. Lviv could not obtain a possibility to raise a monument to Austrian emperor Francis Joseph, but did an honor to his most legendary soldier. Photo UNIAN
