Believers of Ukrainian Orthodox Church picket Ukrainian parliament

The UOC believers hold the icon of God,s Mother, when picketing the VR building (Friday, May 7, 1999). The pickets demand the defense of rights of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC)of Kyiv Patriarchy. The representatives of the Rebublic Christian Party, NRU Party, UOC priests, who arrived to Kyiv from all the regions of Ukraine and believers took part in the picketing. The participants demanded to call to crminal liability all the participants of recently happened attack upon the Patriarch. On Friday, April 30, 1999 in Mariupol, on the place, where the Kyiv Patriarchy Temple is planned to be build, Philaret and his attendants were attacked by a group of pickets.
