Murder of Anna Politkovskaya
Medical workers bring out a stretcher with the body of killed journalist Anna Politkovska from the entrance of her home in Moscow , Russia, on Saturday, October 7, 2006. That day Politkovska, correspondent of “Nova gazeta” known by her critical statements against the war in Chechen republic, was found killed in the lift of her home. The inquiry considers a number of murder versions include “the premeditated murder connected with the execution of the public duty”. Politkovska is the author of documental book “Travel to the hell. Chechen diary”; she was awarded by “The Gold pen of Russia” for the series of reportings from Chechen republic in 2000. Also she received the prize of Russian journalist Union “Good act good heart”, the prize for releases about the struggle with corruption and the diploma “The Gold gong 2000” for releases about Chechen republic.
