Collaborator of the bacteriological laboratory

Collaborator of the bacteriological laboratory of the Lugansk sanitary epidemiological department prepares for testing the mouse that was given an injection (of the culture that was raised on the basis of white powder, discovered in letter) on Thursday, November 1, 2001. First in Ukraine the letter with unknown powder was discovered on one of the customhouses in Sumska oblast. None of those letters contained pathogen of malignant anthrax. After each information the investigation group including sanitary service experts rides out for the site of event. The operations staff conducts complete set of measures – examines the site of event, withdraws the suspected substance and sends it for examination. The Ukrainian Ministry of Interior is going to impose penalty up to Hr5 thousand on the hooligans that send the white powder. Photo by Oleh Prytkin/ UNIAN
