Explosion of the last launcher for the inter-continental ballistic missile PC-22

Explosion of the last launcher for the inter-continental ballistic missile PC-22 just after its demolishing on Tuesday, October 30, 2001, not far from Pervomaisk, Nikolaevska oblast. The explosion marked the complete fulfillment by Ukraine the obligations, given to the world society in connection with the signing of the Lisbon protocol to the Agreement START-1. The program of providing Ukraine by aid for liquidation of the weapons of annihilation of Oct 25, 1993 was prolonged till December 31 of 2006. Within the appointed time it is planned to liquidate all the above-mentioned missiles and infrastructure of rocket complexes. In accordance with the appellation of the USA embassy in Ukraine, there will be allotted $30 mln for those purposes in 2002. Photo by UNIAN
