Sergey Babakov

Sergey Babakov – husband and coach of Inna Babakova, the World Championship on high jumps silver medallist - expresses discontent of treatment of the Filed and Track Federation towards the members of Ukrainian Joint Team on Wednesday, August 15, 2001 during the press conference in Kyiv. The press-conference was held in the Office of the State Committee of Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of Ukraine with participation of coaches and members of Ukraine joint team, who took part in the World Championship-2001 in Edmonton, Canada. Babakov, supported by majority of the joint team blamed the federation leadership in absence of financial support of athletes during the preparations for the championship, pointing that athletes in Edmonton lived in bad life conditions, often lacking possibility to take a shower after competitions.
