The European Commission’s representation chairman – the EC ambassador in Ukraine Andre Vanaberbek, right, gives a pen to the Ukrainian Minister of fuel and energy Stanislav Stashevski after the signing of the agreement on usage of means in the framework of the “Programm of compensation of fuel deficit in Ukraine, financed by TACIS means” on Wednesday, August 2, 2001 in Kyiv. In accordance with the agreements, Ukraine receives from EC grant in size of EURO65 million for the term 2000-2002. The grant, guaranteed by EC President Romano Prodi in 2000, was allotted to help Ukraine overcome the circumstances of the CAPS closure.
