Narcissus valley
COMM Visitors smell narcissuses at the reserve “Narcissus valley” in town Hust, Transcarpathians, Sunday, May 14, 2006. “Narcissus valley” is the unique botanic object, where the largest number of narrow-leaved narcissuses (Narcissus angustifolius) in Middle Europe grow. This Alpine sort of narcissus is widespread in the Alps, Balkans, Carpathians at the height of 1100-2060 m. “Narcissus valley” is situated at the height of 180-200 m. Narcissuses are usually blooming from May 1 till 22. However, their blooming period was shifted a little bit this year because of unusually cold spring. Photo by Leonid Tyt / UNIAN
