Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyivo-Pechersk Lavra

View on the cupolas of the reconstructed Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyivo-Pechersk Lavra. Constructed in 1051 Uspenskyy Cathedral was blown up in November of 1941 during the occupation of Kyiv by fascist army. The reconstruction of the cathedral , as it looked like in late XIX, started in 1984 and was over by 1999. On August 28, 200, in fact, simultaneously with the celebration of the 10th anniversary since Independence of Ukraine all the Christian world will celebrate the 950th anniversary since Lavra’s foundation.
