Mikhail Riabets, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine comments upon a new parliament election law adopted by Verkhovna Rada June, 17 2001, on his news conference in CEC's premises in Kiev on Tuesday, July, 10 2001. The law provides for 75% deputies being elected from the parties lists, and 25% in the majority (one-mandate) districts. Verkhovna Rada got a President's offer to decline the law July, 4. Riabec named a new law best one in a view of electoral procedures. He stressed that next campaign will be "impossible" without the adopting of the law, because the draft implies the CEC's suggestions and expounds clear-cut electoral procedures.
