Co-chairmen of the Popular and Patriotic Union "For Ukraine" popular deputies Yuriy Karmazin, Mikhaylo Syrota, Boris Oliynyk and Yaroslav Fedoryn in the presidium of the Union's constitutive congress on Saturday, July 7, 2001 in Kiev. The delegates of the congress elected five co-chairmen (fifth one is Alexander Sergienko). On the congress attended the delegates from 23 Ukrainian oblasts, Crimea and Kiev. The basic ideas of the neogenic Union are the defense of national Ukrainian interests, the opposition to criminal tycoons' clans, the constitutional defence of the Ukraine's sovereignty and legislation.
