Nino Burdjanadze
Leader of "United Georgia" democracy movement Nino Burjanadze during a press conference in Kiev, on Monday, June 6, 2011. Georgian oppositionist Nino Burjanadze has paid a visit to Kiev. She gave a press conference where she told about the state of democracy in Georgia. Burjanadze complained about the Georgian authorities who just scattered a meeting of opposition in Tbilisi. It happened on May 26, on Georgia's Independence Day. The day before local authorities asked the opposition leave the central street of Tbilisi because it was supposed to be a site for a solemn parade. People refused, and police used force. According to Ministry of the Interior, 37 people was injured. 2 people died as a result of collision with the automobile that was moving too far from the place of the action.
