Presentation of art-geographic project "Golden Mountains" from "Artists from Olegovskaya Street", in Kiev, on Thursday, May 19, 2011. The mannequins-avatars - exact copies of the artists are sitting at the foot of Shchekavitsa mountain to guard its "gold". Ancient Shchekavitsya Mountain has always been a symbol of Ukrainian culture dating back from the times of Kievan Rus, a mysterious place wrapped in myths and legends. The mountain has recently become the centre of a scandal when city authorities gave construction companies a permission to build cottages on the ancient hills, triggering numerous social protests of Kiev residents and archaeologists.
