The District Court has sentenced the former people’s deputy of Ukraine Viktor Lozinskiy to 15 years in prison for the murder of Valeriy Oliynyk, a resident of Holovanivsk district in Kirovograd region, as well as for the illegal possession and use of firearms and ammunition. Announcement of sentence lasted almost five hours. The Court accounted a degree of the criminal act, the fact that he didn’t admit fault, committed a crime being intoxicated. Besides, the Court compelled Viktor Lozinskiy to pay the court costs for different expert examinations of total sum above 10,000 UAH (1,250 USD). The former public prosecutor of Kirovograd region Evgeniy Gorbenko was sentenced to 9 years in prison with a confiscation of property. Also he was divested of the rank of Counsellor in Justice. As for the former Head of a District Police Department of Kirovograd region Mikhail Kovalskiy, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison with a remission of sentence taking into account the fact that he repented, cooperated investigation and retired of his own will.
