On May 26, 201 in Borispil Airport the ceremonial opening of the running strip №1 took place with participation of Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma. The President marked that in 1993 he, being the Prime Minister of Ukraine signed the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution on Borispil's development. The 37 representatives of the European states aviation offices took part in the presentation. The world master of sports Lyudmila Yakovleva, who landed by parachute in front of the tribune passed symbolist key for the new strip to the President. AN-225 Mria and AN-124 Ruslan today first landed on the running strip. Length of the strip makes up - 4 thousands of meters, width - 60 meters, height of list - 900 millimeters.
