Anniversary of Kurenivska Tragedy
COMM An amateur photo depicting a street covered with mud after a catastrophe that happened in Kurenivka region in Kiev on March 13, 1961. That day large-tonnage flow of mud gushed over Kurenivka because of dyke breach. Hundreds of people died, scores of housed were destroyed. Kiev city administration has concealed the facts concerning this event for years. Almost 45 years have passed since this awful tragedy. Photo is given by Krasin Museum of tramway depot / UNIAN
