The cause of death was myocardial. Yuriy Spizhenko an academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Minister of Health USSR and the first health minister of independent Ukraine, people's deputy of two convocations. In 2009, Yuriy Spizhenko opened the clinic, located near Kiev in the village Kapitanovka. This hospital is unique in the country, equipped with the CyberKnife for the removal canser tumors.
