Mohamed Lamari and Leonid Kuchma

The Algeria People’s Democratic Republic People’s Army General Headquarters Chief Colonel-General Mohammed Lamari and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma greet each other during their meeting on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in Kyiv. From April 16 till 19 Lamari will stay in Ukraine with the official visit, aimed to widen the military and military-technical cooperation between Algeria and Ukraine. This is the first official visit in Kyiv within the several years of cooperation. Earlier some 80% of Ukrainian export in Algeria consisted of military and special character services and produce. Lamari marked that in perspective his state is intended both cooperate in above mentioned sphere and discuss the possibilities of other projects in defense sphere, in particular, training of military personnel in Ukraine, modernization of some armament examples.
