SBU officers and representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office had detained Rud on Tuesday, November 9. The SBU uncovered a corruption mechanism for receiving bribes at the State Inspectorate for Control over Prices. October 31, SBU officers, along with the Prosecutor General's Office, detained the deputy head of the State Inspectorate for Control over Prices in Kyiv region and the head of a department at this institution when they received a bribe of $50,000. The civil servants had promised not to demand penalties from a food industry enterprise worth Hr 12.5 million. According to the SBU documents, the Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case against these officials under part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code (large-scale bribery under prior agreement by a group of individuals).
