Verkhovna Rada has adopted the decree ensuring unhampered activity of mass media in the pre-election period in 2010. This decree foresees removal of any legal, economic and organizational impediments in highlighting the election campaign for the local elections which will take place on October 31. According to this decree, the State Tax Administration and the National Council for TV and radio broadcasting should cancel mass media checks for the electioneering period.
