Oleg Shpilman, Henk Dijkstra and Andrey Kurkov

Right-left: Director General of the first in Ukraine book-club "family leisure club" Oleg Shpilman, Club's President Henk Deykstra (Holland) and famous Ukrainian writer Andrey Kurkov on the press conference in the UNIAN agency in Kyiv city on Wednesday, February 21, 2001. On the press-conference the Club leadership declared about the launch of the literary contest for beginning Ukrainian authors. The contest is aimed to search and support the beginning literary talents and increase the influence of national literature on Ukrainian` book market. The winners of the contest will be determined by the authorized jury, headed by Kurkov, each two year. The top prize of the contest makes up Hr30,000. Besides, during the first two years the 7 best typescripts will be published free by the club.
