Yury Shundrov and Vladimir Babashov

Goalkeeper Yury Shundrov (Ukraine), right, and forward Vladimir Babashov (Russia) embrace each other before the hockey match of the Soviet Hockey Stars of Ukrainian and Russian teams-veterans in Kyiv on Saturday, January 13, 2001. The match finished in a draw 5-5. Yuryi Shundrov and Vladimir Babashov enter the symbolist Joint Team of all the times Kyiv's Hockey Club Sokol. HC "Sokol" (Kyiv) made their debut in the USSR's Higher Hockey League in season 1978-79. After the USSR's collapse the team played in 5 seasons (1991-96) in the International Hockey League (IHL), founded of the teams of former USSR Republics. From the season of 1996-1997 plays in the EEHL. Ukrainian, Belarus and Latvian clubs enter the EEHL. Photo by UNIAN
