According to the experts, the most important event in the development of the metallurgical sphere in 2000, became the privatization of the Mariupol-based Iliych Metallurgical Plant's State share holding by the Iliych Stal Private Company's staff. At the same time it is noted that the VR enactment "On the particularities of the MIMP's State share holding privatization (according to which, the seniority right on purchase of the 50+1% (owned by State) of the MIMP is given to the Iliych Stal Private Company, which is formed of more than 39 thousands of MIMP staff) plays the most important part in the aforesaid privatization. The experts say, that the elaboration of law and enactment for the particular metallurgical enterprise can clearly show the importance of metallurgical sphere in Ukraine for present.
