Bars of animal fat in chocolate have just been bought at a supermarket in Ukraine's capital Kiev on Thursday, Dec.28, 2000. Writing reads "Animal fat in chocolate. Joke. Bars. Made in Odessa". Pictured on the left is a Cossack, an ancient folk Ukrainian warrior, eating a piece of fat. Funny bars were produced in southern Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odessa and are released at supermarkets in Kiev and other cities just for fun as the New Year presents. High-calorie animal fat is considered one of national traditional and favourite Ukrainian meal, although most people in Europe and the New World can hardly taste it.
