A sculpture made of painted Easter eggs

Art-object “A sphere of revival” by an artist Oksana Mas on the territory of Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra, in Kiev, on Friday, April 22, 2011. On April 21 on the territory of Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra an art-object “Sphere of revival” by an artist Oksana Mas was set up as a permanent exposition. The sphere symbolizes a spiritual revival. The artist connected the ideas of Ukrainian pisanka and a modern idea of world revival. The installation is a semi-sphere formed of 3,000 unique pisankas. A weight of the sculpture is more than 200 kg. The pictures on the wooden pisankas that are the parts of mosaic, are about 3,000 years. Photo by Aleksandr Sinitsa / UNIAN
