Mikhail Potebenko and Aleksandr Moroz
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Mikhail Potebenko (right) speaks with the leader of the Socialist Party Alexander Moroz in the VR sitting hall presidium in Kyiv, on Tuesday, December 12, 2000. In his speech Potebenko called Moroz to confide in investigation and "to came to the Prosecutor" after he had "given the exhaustive concrete answers, for the impartial investigation". Moroz in respond called to close the case on aspersion and come to know the particularities of journalist Georgyi Gongadze's disappearance. On the very same day Potebenko declared that he did not see any reasons to institute proceedings against Minister of Interior Yuryi Kravchenko and Security Service Chairman Leonid Derkach, in accordance with the video-record data of evidence of the Security Service Officer Nikolay Melnichenko.
