FILE Prosecutor General Aleksandr Medvedko during press-conference, in Kiev, on Friday, January 29, 2010. November 3, President of Ukraine has dismissed the Prosecutor General Aleksandr Medvedko. The deсree has been promulgated at the official Presidential site. The decree does not report the causes of the dismissal of Aleksandr Medvedko. The term of powers of Aleksandr Medvedko expired on November 4. Aleksandr Medvedko headed the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine since 2005. In 2007 he was dismissed, but then returned in his office. October 5, the powers of Aleksandr Medvedko should pass to another person, because, according to the Constitution, after the five year period, any person is not entitled to work as a Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
