Leonid Kuchma, Mustafa Dzhemile

Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, center, and Crimean Tatars People's Committee Chairman under the President of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev, (second, left), accompanied by the Crimean Cabinet of Ministers Chairman Sergey Kunitsyn (first, right), Head of Presidential Administration Vladimir Litvin (second, right) and others enter the Bakhchisarai Mayor's Office on Friday, November 10, 2000. On the same day Mr. Kuchma, accompanied by 12 members of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers arrived in the Crimea with the one-day visit. The President carried out the two-hour sitting of the Crimean Tatars People's Committee in August of 1999. Besides, the most part of aspects of return and settlement of the deported people are successfully decided. The two questions, which are the most important for Crimean Tatars, are still out of the frame of the meeting - the recognition of the Crimean Tatars as the aboriginal population of the Crimea and the allotting areas for Crimean Tatars.
