Stanislav Medvedko, 21, member of Ukrainian Joint Team from 1998 signed a contract with the NBA "Los Angeles Lakers" on Tuesday, August 15, 2000. Medvedko is the first Ukrainian basketball-player who signed a contract with the Lakers. Vlad Divach, who entered the NBA in 1989, was the last European, who joined the NBA.
