A meeting in commemoration of Kruty tragedy of 1918
A meeting is held in Kiev in commemoration of Kruty tragedy of 1918, Kiev, Saturday, January 29, 2006. As is well known, after Ukrainian People's Republic was proclaimed in 1918, Russian Bolshevik government sent forces against the new republic. An army of 6 thousand was going to Kiev via Kruty and met resistance of cadets of Kiev military school called after Bogdan Khmelnitsky and students. 300 young defenders of Ukrainian People's Republic died in the battle near railway station Kruty.
