YUlia Timoshenko and Yuriy Yekhanurov

FILE Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Yekhanurov at the session of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDCU), in Kyiv, on Monday, October 13, 2008. Yu. Tymoshenko is about to address to the President of Ukraine with a request to dismiss Yuriy Yekhanurov from the post of the Defense Minister of Ukraine. Yu. Tymoshenko said: “I, as a Prime Minister, revised all documents, testimonies and I can say: there is unprecedented corruption treatment with budget funds. It is my personal conclusion, for which I have a right. That is why I will send a letter to the President, I will add all the documents, which we have, with a request – as it is provided by Constitution- to make submission to the Verkhovna Rada concerning dismissal of the Defense Minister”. The Prime Minister also said that she is also about to address to the lawmaker corps with the relevant letter on dismissal of Y. Yekhanurov. “I do not want a corruption take place in the government of Ukraine. I underline again that all spending in all Ministries will be checked”, she said.
